Ireland Day 5

Today wasn't "soft rain," but just plain rain.  Sun just came out when we left the dining hall after dinner.  However, the show went on.  Both the orchestra and jazz septet played under the performance shell.  Last year, they had to turn people away because so many people came to this Picnic in the Park event, part of Cork's Mid-Summer Festival.  This year, there weren't too many people in the rain, but there were some.  This photo was taken when we first arrived.  Both groups played amazingly, a testament to their professionalism under adverse conditions.

A seagull showed up and so glad to have these parents along on the tour:  Michelle Siau, Consuela Salazar and Julia Randolph.

Even in the rain, Fitzgerald Park was so beautiful... a real hidden gem along the Lee River.  A flower lover, I took many photos of amazing herb beds and an extraordinary rose garden.  This is a public park open to all and says a lot about Irish values.

This is our last performance at outdoor festivals.  Tomorrow we head to County Mayo and a performance at the Westport Town Hall Theatre.  Know everyone is going to sleep well tonight!
